Living in the Alpes, Thomas was raised skiing and snowboarding.
From the age of 4, Thomas played Ice hockey, culminating in a professional career until the age of 30.
At the age of 12, Thomas passion for sport saw him take up windsurfing (he was hooked)! Kitesurfing became then his next focus, becoming an instructor once he had mastered the sport. Surfing was another activity he wanted to start but only had a real first experience
during a trip to Indonesia in 2002.
Thomas became an elite trainer for professionals in different sports; tennis, rugby, golf, hockey during this time he became part of the team who trained the Mitsubishi team drivers in the Dakar rally. During this period, the Mitsubishi team won the rally four consecutive years.
With a strong history in sports and motion, when Thomas took up surfing it became a source of curiosity and frustration. His drive to be better at it, (excel at it) combined with his analytical mind meant that he took to analysing pro-surfers techniques, taking the time to study the sport, so he could implement his learnings on himself. This analysis is a foundation stone in our
GIGA-development.
Thomas has travelled the world before settling in Vanuatu in 2003 where he used his knowledge to immerse himself in the local community, joining the Vanuatu National Rugby
team as their physical trainer.
The journey to Vanuatu was a turning point, highlighted most significantly when we bought
Vanuatu Kite Surfing – making a living of his passion as always.
